As an Occupational Therapist at New Story Schools of Ohio, you’ll help students strengthen the skills they need to learn, communicate, and participate more fully in school life. You’ll assess functional and sensory needs, design individualized interventions, and collaborate closely with teachers, paraprofessionals, and families to ensure each student can achieve greater independence and confidence.
What You’ll Need- Current Ohio Occupational Therapist license
- Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy or related field
- Experience working with children or students with developmental, behavioral, or physical differences
- Strong collaboration and communication skills with a multidisciplinary team
- Commitment to fostering student success through creative, evidence-based interventions
- Evaluate students’ fine motor, sensory, and self-care abilities to identify areas for support
- Develop individualized therapy plans aligned with IEP goals and educational outcomes
- Deliver one-on-one and small-group therapy sessions to build functional independence
- Collaborate with teachers and therapists to integrate sensory and motor strategies into classroom routines
- Monitor and document student progress to inform ongoing intervention and IEP updates
