Mechanical/electrical assembly of very small components to create highly reliable precision instruments. Follow written and/or verbal instructions and read drawings. Soldering experience needed to mount components such as transistors, diodes, resistors, and integrated circuits onto printed circuit boards. Solder using a microscope and use various hand tools and equipment including a handheld digital volt meter. Operate computers to access SDS’s and perform time keeping duties.
EssentialFunctions
- Solder components and wires to PWB assemblies.
- Build cabling.
- Assembling & wiring test boxes.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Ability to pass certification to MIL, NASA, and/or J-STD level after training.
- Circuit board soldering experience is a plus.
- Be familiar with general assembly procedures.
- Must be able to work under a microscope.
- Ability and willingness to periodically work with hazardous chemicals in a controlled environment.
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, prints, and electronic schematics.
- Can identify electrical components such as resistors, diodes, capacitors, LEDs, and transistors.
- Good manual dexterity and the ability to work with very small parts.
- Pay attention to detail.
- Willing to perform repetitive tasks while sitting or standing for extended periods of time.
- Willing to work overtime and/or weekends as required.
