Quality Inspector

Description

Under direct supervision, performs incoming, first piece, in-progress and/or final inspection on assembled products, using customer prints/specifications. Inspections may include inspection of materials, parts and complete switchboards for compliance with engineering, manufacturing, and quality specifications.

• Assures non-conforming product and processes are identified and documented with an AS9100 Quality Management System.
• Performs workmanship, visual and mechanical inspections.
• Performs assigned QA product and process audits.
• Inputs to and maintains QA inspection databases.
• Investigates and determines cause of defective parts, units or processes.
• Assists with final assembly audits and inventory audits as requested.
• Responds to requests for assistance with quality issues and problems.
• Ensures quality control, approving product conformity.
• Initiates disposition of rejected materials, parts or devices.
• Troubleshoots electrical jobs.
• Interfaces with Customer and Government Quality Representatives.
• Performs routine analyses and calculations using general knowledge or mathematics and statistics.
• Trains and coaches production employees.

• High School education or GED required; some college/university classes considered a bonus.
• 1 to 3 years of Manufacturing, Engineering, Quality Control or related field experience.
• Knowledge of and skill in use of standard mechanical and electrical instruments, functional gauges, rigs and hand‑eye coordination.
• Ability to read engineering drawings, blueprints and related documents.
