Part-Time Audit and Attestation - CPA Firm

Our client is a well‑established, smaller Certified Public Accounting (CPA) firm located in Mayfield Heights, OH, dedicated to providing high‑quality audit, tax, and consulting services to local businesses and organizations. We pride ourselves on building strong, personal relationships with our clients and fostering a collaborative, supportive work environment for our team.

We are seeking a motivated and detail‑oriented professional to join our team on a part‑time basis (approximately 20‑25 hours per week, with potential for increased hours during peak seasons). The Part‑Time Audit and Attestation staff member will be a key contributor to our client service team, assisting with the planning, execution, and completion of various audit and attestation engagements.

• Assist in planning, fieldwork, and completion of financial statement audits, reviews, and compilations for a diverse client base (e.g., non‑profit, small business, governmental).
• Execute audit procedures, including testing internal controls, analyzing financial data, and preparing detailed work papers to support audit conclusions.
• Identify and communicate accounting and auditing issues to senior staff and partners.
• Prepare and analyze financial statements and related disclosures in accordance with U.S. GAAP.
• Interact professionally with client personnel to gather necessary information and clarify audit findings.
• Ensure all client deliverables are completed accurately and on time, meeting professional standards and firm quality control policies.
• Maintain client confidentiality and adhere to the highest ethical standards.

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required.
• Experience: 1‑3 years of recent, relevant experience in external auditing within a CPA firm or equivalent experience.
• Certification: Progress toward CPA licensure is highly preferred; active CPA license is a strong asset.
• Technical Knowledge: Solid understanding of U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and Generally Accepted Auditing Standards (GAAS).
• Location: Must reside in or near the greater Cleveland area and be able to reliably commute to our Mayfield Heights office and client locations as needed.
• Authorization: Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.

• Accounting Software Proficiency: Experience with general ledger software and familiarity with audit management software (e.g., CCH Pro System fx Engagement, Case Ware).
• Microsoft Office Suite: Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (e.g., pivot tables, VLOOKUPs) and solid command of Word and Outlook.
• Documentation: Proven ability to create clear, concise, and thorough audit work papers and financial statements.

• Attention to Detail: Exceptional precision and accuracy in performing complex financial analysis and preparing documentation.
• Analytical and Problem‑Solving: Strong critical thinking skills to evaluate evidence, identify issues, and develop practical solutions.
• Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills for effective interaction with clients and internal team members.
• Time Management: Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and work effectively both independently and as part of a team in a part‑time capacity.
