Risk Manager/Analyst, Underwriter
Howard Hanna Mortgage Services/1st Priority Mortgage has an opening for an experienced Mortgage Loan Underwriter
.
Reports To: Underwriting Manager FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
only local candidates will be considered- 1 day per week in office requirement
Job Responsibilities- Underwriting loans from pre-approval to final approval.
- Reviewing approval conditions for accuracy and structure loans according to policy requirements and credit quality.
- Assisting with resolving post-closing issues and quality control audits.
- Other duties as assigned.
- 3+ years’ experience as a mortgage underwriter.
- FHA Direct Endorsement designation is required for consideration (FHA CHUMS )
- VA SAR preferred
- Thorough understanding of underwriting guidelines, policies and procedures of FHA, VA, USDA, Fannie Mae, and Freddie Mac.
- Experience with state bond programs preferred.
- Applicant must be familiar with Desktop Underwriter (DU) and Loan Prospector (LPA);
Experience with GUS is a plus.. - Proficient with different AUS engines, investor site, FHA Connection, and webLGY.
- Solid track record of success in underwriting FHA, VA, USDA, and Conventional Loans.
- Understanding of how to read and analyze multiple types of underwriting guidelines.
- Ideally, applicant has recently worked in the business within the past 12 months, as current understanding of compliance and regulatory issues is critical.
- Highly disciplined, analytical, independent, entrepreneurial, confident, well-organized self-starter.
- Team-oriented, adaptable, coachable, dependable, with a strong work ethic.
