Position Summary:
The Senior Service Now Engineer is a key influencer in the strategic vision and roadmap implementation for the technology area(s) and Business Functions they support. This position works directly with project leaders, technical or business analysts on the planning, execution, and support of information technology solutions. The Service Now Engineer leverages knowledge in several technical or business disciplines to collaborate with peers in deploying highly secure and resilient information technology solutions.
This role collaborates with the Enterprise Manager/Director and Division/Country IT Manager to set departmental goals and technology targets.
Key Responsibilities:
- Advisor on technology or business systems portfolio to drive expected results for the business.
- Proactively anticipate changes, recommend to leadership, and lead and implement change within the team.
- Demonstrate high emotional intelligence and organizational awareness.
- Complete root cause analysis of issues and decisively lead problem resolution.
- Focus on business or technology solution ROI and realistic achievable business value.
- Build trust with business partners and stakeholders through translating complex technical solutions to non-technical language.
- Proficient in IT life-cycle management methodologies, including design, development, testing, project management, and change management.
- Interpret business requirements effectively to translate into information technology solutions.
- Responsible for regional or global support of technical solutions or business applications spanning multiple technologies or business functions.
- Responsible for architectural runway emergence in design and system development reducing technical debt.
- Collaborate with business units to develop innovative IT solutions to fit business needs.
- Produce cost-benefit analysis and recommend solutions to improve business processes.
- Accountable for team members implementing core values and building a trust-based relationship throughout the team.
- Adapt written, verbal, and presentation material to audience and environment.
- Communicate technical issues to project team members and management.
- Ability to travel as needed and provide after-hours technical support as required.
- Provide strategic direction and architectural leadership for Service Now implementations.
- Act as a technical lead in Service Now engagements, providing thought leadership and best practices.
- Develop high-level designs and specifications for Service Now applications, ensuring they are reusable, reliable, and adaptive using Agile methodology.
- Develop and implement best practices for Service Now configuration, development, and deployment.
- Design and implement solutions for IT Service Management, IT Operations Management, and other Service Now modules.
- Lead the evaluation and selection of Service Now plugins and third-party integrations.
- Stay updated with the latest Service Now features, trends, and best practices.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- A bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., IT, Computer Science).
- Service Now Certified System Administrator (CSA) certification required; additional ITSM and ITOM certifications considered a plus.
- Proven experience as a Service Now Senior Engineer with a strong track record of designing and implementing complex solutions.
- Experience in security best practices and compliance requirements.
- In-depth knowledge of Service Now capabilities across modules such as Incident, Change, Problem, Asset, IRM, HRSD, Sec Ops, CMDB, and more.
- Strong understanding of ITIL best practices and their implementation within Service Now.
- Proficiency in JavaScript, XML, HTML, and CSS for Service Now development.
- Experience with Service Now integrations using REST, SOAP, and other relevant technologies.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with keen attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills with ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
- Demonstrated Agile methodology experience.
