Job Summary

This is a temporary, part-time position used to fill classroom vacancies as needed: days, evenings, weekends and/or online. Job Duties
  • An Adjunct EMS Instructor is responsible for delivering high-quality instruction in Emergency Medical Services (EMS) courses. They provide engaging and effective classroom instruction, ensuring that students develop the necessary knowledge and skills to succeed in pre-hospital emergency care.
  • Deliver lectures and hands-on training aligned with the course curriculum and industry standards.
  • Demonstrate proper techniques for emergency medical procedures, including patient assessment, airway management, and trauma care.
  • Facilitate classroom discussions and interactive learning experiences.
  • Assess student progress through exams, practical evaluations, and assignments.
  • Ensure compliance with state and national EMS education guidelines.
  • Maintain a positive and professional learning environment that supports student success.
  • Prepare students for real-world emergency medical scenarios, fostering critical thinking, teamwork, and professionalism in the field.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Must be certified by the Kentucky Board of Emergency Medical Services (KBEMS) as an EMS instructor.
  • Must have completed an approved EMS instructor course.
  • Must have a minimum of two years of experience as a practicing paramedic.
  • Must hold a current and valid paramedic certification.
  • Must have experience in teaching or training in the field of emergency medical services.
  • Must comply with all continuing education requirements as specified by KBEMS.
