Job Summary
This is a temporary, part-time position used to fill classroom vacancies as needed: days, evenings, weekends and/or online. Job Duties- An Adjunct EMS Instructor is responsible for delivering high-quality instruction in Emergency Medical Services (EMS) courses. They provide engaging and effective classroom instruction, ensuring that students develop the necessary knowledge and skills to succeed in pre-hospital emergency care.
- Deliver lectures and hands-on training aligned with the course curriculum and industry standards.
- Demonstrate proper techniques for emergency medical procedures, including patient assessment, airway management, and trauma care.
- Facilitate classroom discussions and interactive learning experiences.
- Assess student progress through exams, practical evaluations, and assignments.
- Ensure compliance with state and national EMS education guidelines.
- Maintain a positive and professional learning environment that supports student success.
- Prepare students for real-world emergency medical scenarios, fostering critical thinking, teamwork, and professionalism in the field.
- Must be certified by the Kentucky Board of Emergency Medical Services (KBEMS) as an EMS instructor.
- Must have completed an approved EMS instructor course.
- Must have a minimum of two years of experience as a practicing paramedic.
- Must hold a current and valid paramedic certification.
- Must have experience in teaching or training in the field of emergency medical services.
- Must comply with all continuing education requirements as specified by KBEMS.
