Director of Med Surgery

Seeking a Director of Med Surgery for a 100‑bed Short Term Acute Care, For‑Profit hospital. The hospital offers a positive work environment where personnel work as a team to provide high‑quality care. We are looking for a leader with excellent communication skills and strategic, inspirational leadership.

• Develop and implement departmental goals, plans, and standards consistent with the clinical, administrative, legal, and ethical requirements/objectives of the organization.
• Direct and evaluate departmental operations, including patient care delivery, information technologies, service level determination, and complaint management, to achieve performance and quality control objectives.
• Plan and monitor staffing activities, including hiring, orienting, evaluating, disciplinary actions, and continuing education initiatives.
• Prepare, monitor, and evaluate departmental budgets, and ensure the department operates in compliance with allocated funding.
• Coordinate and direct internal/external audits. Create and foster an environment that encourages professional growth.
• Integrate evidence‑based practices into operations and clinical protocols.
• Direct the department's activities and resources to achieve departmental and organizational objectives.
• Handle a stressful environment, working with minimal supervision, exercising critical thinking skills and decisive judgment.

• Valid Kentucky Nursing License or Compact Status.
• Minimum of 2 years of progressive leadership experience.
• Certifications:
  
  BLS and ACLS required.
• Excellent communication skills across all levels.
