CLINICAL PSYCHOLOGIST – DEBRA SIMON CENTER OF INTEGRATIVE BEHAVIORAL HEALTH AND WELLNESS

Join the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Health Services at the Debra Simon Center of Integrative Behavioral Health and Wellness of Hackensack University Medical Center. We are seeking a full‑time staff psychologist with expertise in evidence‑based psychotherapy, education, training, and research, specializing in perinatal mood and anxiety disorders.

Overview

The Psychologist functions as a Clinical Psychologist under supervision of the Director of Psychology, providing diagnostic and therapeutic services in accordance with the American Psychological Association’s Ethical Principles, New Jersey Board of Psychological Examiners, and Joint Commission standards. The psychologist will work within an interdisciplinary team to optimize whole‑person health, diagnose and treat behavioral health disorders, and provide evidence‑based treatment (CBT, DBT, ACT, etc.).

Key responsibilities include clinical service delivery, supervision of trainees, program development, and professional growth opportunities within the Wellness Center.

Responsibilities
  • Perform intake assessments, develop and update treatment plans, and provide empirically‑based treatment in individual, family, and group modalities.
  • Collaborate with families and community resources to support patient care and provide behavioral health consultations to medical and community agencies.
  • Supervise junior clinical staff, psychology trainees, and medical students, and mentor through externship, internship, and post‑doctoral programs.
  • Participate in all phases of the outpatient process, including staff and disposition meetings, case presentations, and chart reviews.
  • Maintain productivity and treatment guidelines per departmental standards and use outcome data to adjust treatment.
  • Represent the department at professional and community conferences and contribute to continuous educational development.
  • Adhere to organizational competencies, the Medical Center’s policies, and the New Jersey Board of Psychological Examiners.
  • Perform additional duties or projects as assigned by the Director of Psychology.
Qualifications
  • Doctoral degree (PhD or PsyD) from an APA‑accredited Clinical Psychology program.
  • Completion of an APA‑approved internship in Adult Clinical and/or Pediatric Psychology.
  • Proficiency in evidence‑based treatments (CBT, ACT, DBT, etc.).
  • Minimum five years of related clinical experience with diverse populations.
  • Experience in clinical training and supervision, with a commitment to developing future psychologists.
  • Sensitivity to multiculturalism and diversity.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient computer skills, including Google Suite.
  • Licensed Clinical Psychologist in the state of New Jersey.
Preferred
  • Postdoctoral training or experience in Clinical Psychology.
Compensation

Base salary starting at $ annually. Compensation is benchmarked against market data and may vary based on experience, education, and qualifications. Full‑time and part‑time positions include a comprehensive benefits package: health, dental, vision, paid leave, tuition reimbursement, and retirement benefits.
