About the Role:

The Revenue Cycle Analyst plays a critical role in optimizing the financial performance of healthcare organizations by analyzing and improving the revenue cycle processes. This position focuses on identifying inefficiencies, monitoring key performance indicators, and implementing strategies to enhance billing, collections, and reimbursement activities. The analyst collaborates closely with clinical, financial, and administrative teams to ensure accurate and timely revenue capture while maintaining compliance with regulatory requirements.

By leveraging data analytics and reporting tools, the Revenue Cycle Analyst provides actionable insights that drive decision-making and support continuous improvement initiatives. Ultimately, this role ensures the organization maximizes revenue while delivering high-quality patient financial services.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Healthcare Administration, Business, or a related field.
  • Experience in healthcare revenue cycle management or financial analysis.
  • Strong understanding of medical billing, coding, and reimbursement processes.
  • Proficiency with data analysis tools such as Excel, SQL, Meditech or business intelligence software.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Certification in Revenue Cycle Management (e.g., Certified Revenue Cycle Professional - CRCP).
  • Experience with electronic health record (EHR) systems and revenue cycle management software.
  • Knowledge of healthcare regulations including HIPAA and CMS guidelines.
  • Experience working in a multi-facility healthcare environment.
Responsibilities:
  • Analyze revenue cycle data to identify trends, discrepancies, and opportunities for process improvements.
  • Develop and maintain detailed reports and dashboards to monitor key performance indicators such as days in accounts receivable, denial rates, and collection effectiveness.
  • Collaborate with billing, coding, and clinical teams to resolve issues impacting revenue capture and reimbursement.
  • Recommend and implement process changes to improve efficiency, reduce denials, and accelerate cash flow.
  • Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and payer requirements related to billing and reimbursement.
  • Monitor key performance indicators such as days in accounts receivable, denial rates, and collection effectiveness.
  • Participate in cross-functional projects aimed at enhancing revenue cycle systems and workflows.

The Revenue Cycle Analyst utilizes analytical skills daily to interpret complex financial and operational data, identifying patterns that impact revenue flow. Strong communication skills are essential for collaborating with diverse teams and conveying findings clearly to stakeholders. Proficiency in data management and visualization tools enables the analyst to create insightful reports that support strategic decision-making. Knowledge of healthcare billing and regulatory requirements ensures that recommendations align with compliance standards.
