Reporting to the Senior Manager, Polymer and Pretreatment, the Technical Services Consultant is responsible for providing application support to sales representatives and clients in product screenings and treatment program selection, troubleshooting treatment programs to meet customer cost and performance objectives, and preparing written trip reports to document recommendations and results. The role also assists sales representatives in advancing the selling process.
In this role, a typical day may include:
- Provide field sales technical assistance and product recommendations, including plant surveys, proposal preparation, sales presentations, application testing, and customer entertainment.
- Apply knowledge of polymer chemistry, uses, and testing procedures.
- Provide expertise in product screening and treatment program selection, application of chosen programs, and troubleshooting to meet cost and performance objectives for chemical/ refining and food & beverage clients.
- Travel throughout the continental U.S. on an average of three days/two nights per week.
- Offer field troubleshooting and technical assistance as required, including problem solving, on‑site sales representative training, operator training, and equipment inspections.
The essential requirements of the job include:
- Bachelor of Science or Master’s degree in biology, chemistry, engineering, or related fields.
- Ten+ years of field experience in water and wastewater treatment (may be considered equivalent to a four‑year degree).
- Five or more years’ experience with a major water treatment company.
Location:
The position is part of the Polymer team located in Houston and will be remote
. The ideal candidate will be located in the Houston area and travel throughout the continental U.S. on an average of three days/two nights per week (about 70% travel). The role also supports sales representatives throughout the United States, Canada, and Latin America.
US ONLY:
The compensation range for this role is $145,000 – $155,000 USD per year. Benefits include paid time off, medical/dental/vision insurance, and 401(k) to eligible employees.
