• The surgical technologists will be working directly with the surgical team and will be responsible for preparing the surgical suite according to age-specific needs, medical condition, and surgeon preference.
• Cross-train to other surgical areas in the system.
• Demonstrate competency with aseptic surgical equipment annually.
• Perform appropriate sponge, sharp, and instrument counts according to hospital policies and procedures.

• Current Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) Certification
• Willingness to be cross trained to other areas
• Must demonstrate commitment and adherence to STHS’s Compliance Program and Code of Conduct through compliance with all policies and procedures, the Code of Conduct, attendance at required training, and immediately reporting suspected compliance issue(s) to the Compliance Officer

• Must have a certificate of completion from a Surgical Technologist program or a military training program and maintain.
• Must have and maintain current BLS certification, according to unit-specific needs. Certification must be in accordance with the curriculum of the AHA, for Healthcare Provider’s Program.
