Perform cardiac ultrasound with minimal supervision, including M‑Mode, 2‑D, Doppler, Color Doppler studies and stress echocardiograms on adolescent, adult and geriatric patients. Provide technical expertise in instrumentation, equipment maintenance, and safety policy implementation.
Responsibilities- Explain and educate patient on procedures.
- Perform 2‑D Echocardiograms.
- Perform M‑Mode Echocardiograms.
- Perform Cardiac Doppler testing.
- Perform Cardiac Color Flow studies.
- Troubleshoot equipment.
- Provide post‑procedure education for patient.
- Process tests for physician interpretation.
- Maintain data management system for echocardiograms.
- Demonstrate competency in Meditech and properly process documentation of tests performed.
- High School Diploma or GED preferred.
- Satisfactory completion of a Cardiovascular Tech Program or equivalent experience.
- One‑year experience as a technologist in a Cardiovascular Lab.
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
- (RDCS) Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer required.
Rio Grande Regional Hospital in McAllen, Texas has served the Rio Grande Valley for more than 30 years.
