Responsibilities
POSITION SUMMARY:
The surgical technologists will work directly with the surgical team, preparing the surgical suite according to age specific and medical condition needs and surgeon preference. They will perform appropriate sponge, sharp and instrument counts as per hospital policies and procedures, undergo cross‑training to other surgical areas in the system, and demonstrate competency in aseptic surgical equipment annually.
- Current Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) Certification
- Willingness to be cross trained to other areas
- Commitment to and adherence to STHS’s Compliance Program and Code of Conduct, including compliance with all policies, attendance at required training, and immediate reporting of suspected compliance issues to the Compliance Officer
- Certificate of completion from a Surgical Technologist program or a military training program and ongoing maintenance of that certificate
- Current BLS certification maintained in accordance with the curriculum of the American Heart Association (AHA) Healthcare Provider’s Program
