Overview

This position provides a visible presence at store entrances/exits, mitigates theft and fraud, and maintains a safe and secure environment for associates and customers. The Specialist engages with customers in a courteous, friendly manner, supports Loss Prevention directives, and partners with Store Leadership to minimize operational shortage. The role requires adherence to company values and protection of the Ross treasure.

• Maintain a visible presence at store entrances/exits and on the sales floor in Company-issued vest/required attire, monitoring for potential safety issues.
• Provide customer service by greeting customers, making eye contact, and answering questions in a friendly and courteous manner.
• Identify potential safety issues and assist Store Leadership in maintaining a safe and secure environment for associates and customers.
• Remove clutter and ensure safe, clear egress to emergency exits.
• Partner with Store Leadership to ensure compliance with Loss Prevention directives and minimize operational shortage.
• Engage in loss prevention activities and support initiatives to reduce shrinkage.

• High School education or equivalent required; AA degree preferred.
• One year retail supervisor experience or similar training preferred.
• One year loss prevention/security training preferred.
• Active Security Guard License preferred.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and strong communication skills.
• Demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationships with the store team; excellent customer service skills.
• Proven ability to resolve conflicts; compliance with applicable laws and background screening requirements as needed.

• Consistent timeliness and regular attendance.
• Ability to stand, walk, and move around the store (up to 100% of working time).
• Ability to lift and move objects more than 25 lbs.
• Ability to bend, stoop, or crouch as needed.
