For nearly 40 years, Allies has been providing thousands of at‑risk children and their families with critical, high‑quality child development and family wellness programs (including comprehensive early education and Early Head Start services), family strengthening interventions, foster care and adoption services, and a range of vital, integrated services, including mental health services, educational assessments, trauma and disabilities screenings/advocacy, nutrition services, dental and vision screenings, and pediatric health consultations.

JOB SUMMARY:

Under the clinical supervision of the Director of Youth and Young Adult Services, the Youth and Young Adult Mental Health Clinician (Clinician) conducts professional mental health assessments and provides CAPIT services (child abuse prevention, intervention, and treatment), including individual and/or group/family counseling, psychotherapeutic services, crisis management, and other related services and activities for clients and their family members. This role involves working in field‑based settings and engaging with high‑risk, marginalized, or otherwise vulnerable populations (e.g., foster care, homeless, sexually exploited, pregnant and parenting youth, transition‑age youth, LGBTQ+ youth, etc.)

Services:
  • Participate in the intake process to gather information on clients’ (i.e., family, social, employment, medical, and mental health treatment) histories. Conduct client interviews and diagnostic assessments to develop personalized treatment and recovery plans.
  • Develop urgent crisis care plans to resolve and help clients cope with acute mental or emotional problems, which may include referral to another treatment source, such as a psychiatrist, a psychologist, a rehabilitation counselor, or another agency.
  • Plan and conduct the client's therapy program under the guidance of supervisory staff to address presenting problems identified through the assessment process, considering the client's treatment goal and the length and modality of therapy.
