Responsibilities- Apply ionizing radiation to patients in accordance with prescription and instructions of the Radiation Oncologist and Medical Physicist.
- Take precise measurements of patients and fit them with specialized equipment during radiation sessions.
- Monitor patients’ responses, including side effects, and adjust the schedule or doses of radiation accordingly.
- Document total care given, review and maintain patient chart, and assist with accurate and timely entry of patient data, orders, and charges into the computer system.
- Provide leadership and direction for other radiation therapists.
- Work a 40‑hour week with rotating weekend/holiday on‑call schedule.
- Function within the scope of approved policies, procedures, and regulations for the department and organization.
- Maintain professional, non‑defensive relationships with peers, physicians, administration, patients, and visitors.
