Responsibilities:
The Medical Lab Technician uses the laboratory process to safely perform laboratory procedures. Working assignments are determined by the workload of laboratory tests. The technician follows departmental procedures, operates and maintains laboratory instruments, and ensures accurate test results. The position involves routine technical tasks, setting up and calibrating equipment, collecting and preparing samples, and safely disposing of waste. The role requires working up to 40 hours per week, rotating between day and night shifts as needed, and ensuring yearly mandatory education requirements are met.
- Lab certification required.
- Good attitude and professionalism.
- Ability to troubleshoot instrument problems independently.
- Effective communication with peers, physicians, and patients.
- Willingness to perform duties requested by the laboratory manager or director.
