Registered Nurse – GI Endoscopy Suite, Southwest Mississippi Regional Medical Center
Hospital Wide Departments. Under general supervision of the Chief Nursing Officer, Associate Chief Nursing Officer, and the Nurse Manager, the Registered Nurse uses the nursing process to safely coordinate total patient care and education for patients as they are admitted and discharged from the facility. The nurse will rotate between weekends and holidays according to the needs of the facility. The nurse functions independently in ICU, CVSU, ED, medical‑surgical floors, and telemetry floors, as assigned based on staffing needs.
The nurse documents total care, reviews and maintains patient charts per policy, and assists with accurate and timely entry of patient data, orders, and charges into the computer system. The successful candidate must pass a pharmacology test, attend yearly mandatory and Healthstream education requirements, and maintain all certifications and licensure requirements on time.
- Coordinate total patient care and education for admissions and discharges.
- Work independently in ICU, CVSU, ED, medical‑surgical, and telemetry floors.
- Maintain patient charts and enter data accurately into the computer system.
- Assist in problem‑solving and promote teamwork among staff, physicians, home health, outpatient clinics, and ancillary departments.
- Attend mandatory yearly education and Healthstream sessions and keep certifications current.
- Registered Nurse licensed in the state (must pass a pharmacology test).
- Professional, non‑defensive demeanor with peers, physicians, administration, patients, and visitors.
- Ability to work any shift, including weekends and holidays.
- Proficiency in nursing process and patient documentation.
