The Treatment Nurse RN / LPN position is responsible for the skin and wound care of residents with an emphasis on prevention and treatment of skin disorders. The Treatment Nurse follows the established nursing Care Plan and makes appropriate adjustments as resident care needs and/or physician orders change. Assists with the duties of the staff RN / LPN or Certified Nursing Assistant when needed.
DUTIESof RN / L PN Treatment Nurse
- Identifies, plans, implements, and evaluates skin care in residents.
- Identifies, manages, and treats specific skin disorders.
- Performs evaluation using observation and inspection techniques.
- Confers with the Care Planning Team in the development of the Care Plan.
- Provides and documents treatment for skin disorders within established wound care protocol and monitors ongoing skin and wound treatments.
- Monitors the use of preventive measures such as inspection, turning and positioning.
- Assists in modifying the treatment regimen to meet the needs of the resident in accordance with established medical practices, the regulatory guidelines and the policies and goals of this facility.
- Provides information to resident and caregivers on prevention techniques and other ways to maintain or improve the general health and psychosocial status of the resident.
Education / Training:
Graduate of an approved school of nursing; current nursing license to practice as a Registered Nurse RN or a Licensed Practical Nurse LPN in the state. Experience in skin care preferred.
Must have current CPR certification. We are looking for an RN or LPN to join our team in providing quality care to our patients. The successful candidate will be responsible for administering medications, providing basic patient care, and assisting with rehabilitation activities in a long-term care or nursing home setting. The ideal candidate will have experience working with the elderly and/or disabled, and will be committed to providing compassionate care to all patients.
Responsibilities:- Provide direct patient care in a long-term care, nursing home, or rehabilitation center setting.
- Monitor and record patient vital signs and progress.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by the physician.
- Provide emotional support to patients and families.
- Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs).
- Maintain a clean and safe environment for patients.
- Communicate with other healthcare professionals to ensure quality care.
