Registered Nurse – Recovery Room (SMRMC)

Hospital Wide Depts. Under general supervision of the Chief Nursing Officer, Associate Chief Nursing Officer, and the Nurse Manager, the Registered Nurse uses the nursing process to safely coordinate total patient care and education for patients as they are admitted and discharged from the facility.

• Coordinate total patient care and education for patients as they are admitted and discharged from the facility.
• Rotate between weekends and holidays according to the needs of the facility.
• Function independently in ICU, CVSU, ED, medical‑surgical floors, and telemetry floors.
• Document total care given, review and maintain patient chart per policy, and assist with accurate and timely entry of patient data, orders, and charges into the computer system.
• Collaborate frequently with the CNO, ACNO, Nurse Manager, Staff, physicians, administrators, peers, home‑health, outpatient clinics, and all other ancillary departments.
• Assist in problem‑solving by promoting teamwork among staff, physicians, home‑health, outpatient clinics, and ancillary departments.

• Must be able to work and relate in a professional, nondefensive manner with peers, physicians, administration, patients, and visitors.
• Pass a pharmacology test for this position.
• Attendance to yearly mandatory Healthstream education requirements is nonnegotiable and the responsibility of the employee to arrange and attend sessions.
• Responsible for maintaining all certifications and licensure requirements on time.
