Clinic Registered Nurse

Under the general supervision of the Clinic Administrator and Office Manager, the Clinic RN uses the nursing process to safely coordinate outpatient clinic patient care and education. The workload is determined by the clinic’s appointment schedule, staffing levels, and clinic priorities, and the RN may need to be reassigned within the clinic or float to another clinic. The position involves up to 40 hours per week with occasional weekend work.

Responsibilities include orienting and precepting nursing, technical, and clerical staff; documenting total clinic patient care; reviewing and maintaining patient charts per policy; assisting with accurate data entry of orders, charges, and patient information into the computer system; and attending yearly mandatory education sessions. The RN must work professionally and non‑defensively with peers, physicians, administration, patients, and visitors while operating within the scope of approved policies, procedures, and regulations.

Under the supervision of the MCI Director, the Oncology RN uses the nursing process to safely perform oncology patient care. The RN ensures continuity of care for patients receiving treatment, provides consultation and education to patients, families, and staff, and collaborates with radiation oncologists, medical oncologists, referring physicians, and other staff members. Work assignments are determined by scheduled appointments and priority needs, with up to 40 hours per week and rotating weekend work.

Responsibilities include documenting total care given, reviewing and maintaining patient charts, and assisting with accurate and timely entry of patient data, orders, and charges into the computer system. The RN must operate within the scope of approved policies and regulations and maintain a professional, non‑defensive relationship with peers, physicians, administration, patients, and visitors.
