Job Summary
Under general supervision of the Clinic Administrator, Office Manager and Clinic RN, the LPN will use the nursing process to safely provide patient care and patient education. The workload will be determined by the clinic’s appointment schedule, staffing levels and the needs and priorities of the outpatient clinics. The LPN must be willing to be reassigned within the clinic or float to another clinic.
The assignment to another clinic is established by daily review of overall outpatient clinic appointment schedules and staffing needs. The Clinic LPN will be assigned up to 40 hours per week according to the clinic’s needs and staffing. Some weekend work may be required. The LPN is expected to function within the scope of approved policies, procedures and regulations for the clinic and organization.
The LPN will assist the Clinic RN and Office Manager with orientation and preceptorship for clinic technicians and clerical staff assigned to the clinic, work and relate in a professional, non-defensive manner with peers, physicians, administration, patients and visitors, document clinic patient care given, assist with review and maintenance of patient chart per clinic policy, and assist with accurate and timely entry of patient data, orders, and charges into the computer system.
Attendance to yearly mandatory education requirements is non-negotiable and will be the responsibility of the employee to arrange and attend sessions.
