Work DescriptionThe WEC Detention Facility houses adults who have been adjudicated and are awaiting deportation. The Nebraska Department of Correctional Services (NDCS) provides additional information rections.nebraska.gov.

Responsibilities- Provide interpretation and translation services to offenders, their family members, and the public.
- Offer expertise on Spanish interpretation issues.
- Submit written reports and correspondence.
- Collect information and maintain statistical data on interpretative services.
- Develop and review agency policies and procedures.
Minimum Qualifications: Associate degree in public or business administration, accounting, or another discipline related to the work assigned; one year of administrative, business management, or technical support experience collecting and interpreting statistical, financial, program, or administrative data. One year of experience may substitute for one year of education.
Preferred Qualifications: Computer experience and experience in a correctional setting;
Bachelor's degree in Spanish; experience interpreting and translating from English to Spanish and Spanish to English, including legal and medical materials.
Must be fluent in both English and Spanish. Applicants accepting a job offer must pass a physical exam, a drug test, and complete the fully paid Nebraska Department of Correctional Services Training Program at the Staff Training Academy.
