Job Details Responsibilities

As the Permanent Director of Finance, you will be required to:

Develop and implement financial strategies, policies, and procedures to ensure the financial health of the organization.

Oversee the preparation of all financial statements, including monthly, quarterly, and annual reports, in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).

Lead the budgeting and forecasting processes, ensuring that all financial targets are realistic, achievable, and aligned with the organization's strategic objectives.

Monitor financial performance by measuring and analyzing results, initiating corrective actions, and minimizing the impact of variances.

Coordinate and lead the annual audit process, liaise with external auditors and the finance committee of the board of directors, and assess any changes necessary.

Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local legal requirements by researching existing and new legislation, consulting with outside advisors, and filing financial reports.

Advise on long-term business and financial planning, and provide recommendations to strategically enhance financial performance and business opportunities.

Maintain knowledge of organizational procedures, federal and state regulations, and accounting standards to ensure compliance and accuracy in financial management.

Qualifications

A minimum of 5 years of experience in a senior-level finance or accounting position within the government sector.

A Master's degree in Business Administration (MBA) or related field.

Comprehensive knowledge of GAAP and a strong understanding of financial statistics and accounting principles.

Proven experience in financial planning, forecasting, and budgeting.

Strong experience in audits, compliance, and financial reporting.

Exceptional leadership abilities, with a proven track record of managing a finance team.

Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to present complex financial information in a clear and concise manner.

Strong problem-solving skills, with a strategic and analytical mindset.

Proficiency in using financial software and advanced MS Excel skills.
