Location:

Full‑time, Monday‑Friday 8:30 am–5:00 pm.
Salary: hourly (based on experience).

ABOUTTHE ROLE
The Human Resources Assistant supports recruiting, employee relations, onboarding, payroll, special events, and HR file maintenance to enable efficient operations of the HR department.
WHAT YOU WILL DO- Assist with job posting, screening, selection, and interview scheduling.
- Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations and company policies.
- Support employee relations and issue resolution processes.
- Conduct or assist with new‑hire onboarding and orientation.
- Maintain accurate HR files, records, and documentation.
- Answer frequently asked questions from applicants and employees regarding policies, benefits, and hiring processes; refer more complex questions to senior HR staff.
- Maintain confidentiality of employee information.
- Perform periodic audits of HR files and records.
- Provide clerical support to the HR department.
- Alert supervisors when discipline needs to be issued and follow up to ensure proper attendance disciplinary steps are taken.
- Assist with payroll functions including timecard monitoring, attendance tracking, and corrective action processing.
- Assist with planning and execution of special events such as benefits enrollment, employee recognition, holiday parties, and other company celebrations.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to build positive rapport with employees.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent time‑management skills with proven ability to meet deadlines.
- Prior experience in Human Resources, Recruiting, or related office experience.
- Proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn payroll management, HRIS, and Microsoft Office suite.
- Office and computer application skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills for managing sensitive confidential situations with tact, professionalism, and diplomacy.
- Associate or bachelor’s degree.
- Two or more years of Human Resources related experience.
- Knowledge of labor and employment laws.
- Experience with HR databases and Applicant Tracking Systems – Paylocity experience is a Plus.
This role operates in both a professional office environment and a warehouse environment. It requires routine use of standard office equipment. The candidate may need to work in the warehouse to be available to personnel and may hear honking from equipment. Must be able to lift up to 15 lb and be comfortable navigating each department at the warehouse facility.
