The Role
The Human Resources Assistant will perform recruiting and administrative tasks and services to support effective and efficient operations of the organization’s human resources department. All S&S Activewear employees must adhere and enforce the guidelines presented in the S&S Activewear Employee Handbook.
Schedule & CompensationFull‑Time, Monday‑Friday (8:30am‑5:00pm), Non‑Exempt. Hourly (based on experience).
What You Will Do- Assist with job posting process, screening applications, selecting qualified candidates, and scheduling interviews.
- Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations and adherence to company policies.
- Support employee relations and issue resolution process.
- Conduct or assist with all aspects of new hire onboarding and orientation.
- Maintain accurate and up‑to‑date human resources files, records, and documentation.
- Answer frequently asked questions from applicants and employees relative to standard policies, benefits, hiring processes, etc.; refer more complex questions to appropriate senior level HR staff.
- Maintain the integrity and confidentiality of employee or employee‑related information, human resources file and records.
- Perform periodic audits of HR files and records to ensure that all required documents are collected and filed appropriately.
- Provide clerical support to the HR Department.
- Alert supervisors when discipline needs to be issued and follow up to ensure proper attendance disciplinary steps are taken.
- Assist with payroll functions including daily timecard monitoring, daily attendance tracking and corrective action processing, answering employee questions, fixing processing errors, and distributing checks.
- Assist with planning and execution of special events such as benefits enrollment, organizational meetings, employee recognition events, holiday parties, and any additional company celebrations.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

- Excellent time management skills with proven ability to meet deadlines.
- Prior experience in Human Resources, Recruiting or related office experience.
- Proficient with or the ability to quickly learn payroll management, human resources information system (HRIS), Microsoft office suite.
- Office and/or similar computer applications.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to manage sensitive and confidential situations with tact, professionalism, and diplomacy.
- Associate’s or bachelor’s degree.
- Two or more years of Human Resources related experience.
- Knowledge of labor and employment laws.
- Experience with HR databases and Applicant Tracking Systems - Paylocity experience is a Plus.
- Experience utilizing the latest sourcing tools and methods (Internet search, Indeed, Chrome and browser extensions, Social Media, etc.).
This job operates in both a professional office environment and warehouse environment. It entails routine use of standard office equipment (computers, phones, copiers, filing cabinets, etc.).
