Overview
The role focuses on supervising daily operations and a team within a Distribution Center (DC) to ensure timely and accurate processing of orders while maintaining safety and efficiency. The position reports to the Manager, DC Operations.
Responsibilities- Operations & Workflow Management
- Develop and implement daily operational plans aligned with service level agreements (SLAs) and business goals
- Oversee labor scheduling, resource allocation, and workflow coordination to meet productivity and efficiency targets
- Monitor KPIs such as accuracy, throughput, and efficiency; take corrective action as needed
- Collaborate with inventory control and cross-functional teams to ensure seamless material flow and stock accuracy
- Maintain compliance with company policies, safety regulations, and industry best practices
- Promote and maintain a 5S culture with organizational and process improvement initiatives
- Prepare and present reports on operational metrics, challenges, and improvement strategies
- Facilitate effective communication across all levels of the organization and across departments
- Collaborate with partners such as transportation, inventory control, and customer service to resolve issues and streamline operations
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce waste
- Challenge the status quo using data and insights to refine workflows
- Address operational challenges with practical solutions to ensure seamless execution across departments
- People Management & Leadership
- Lead, train, and mentor employees to enhance performance and development
- Conduct performance evaluations, set expectations, and provide coaching to drive success
- Monitor attendance, productivity, and policy adherence; address performance issues promptly
- Partner with Talent to manage employee relations, including conflict resolution and corrective actions
- Foster a positive, collaborative work environment that encourages continuous improvement
- Ensure all employees are informed of policies, safety protocols, and performance expectations
- Encourage innovation and a culture of problem-solving
- Additional Department Specific Requirements
- Inventory Control: supervise and support the team to achieve inventory accuracy through cycle counting, auditing, and reconciliation
- Packing: supervise and support the team in preparing orders for shipment, including verification, packaging to brand standards, quality control, and timely shipment
- Picking & Replenishment: supervise and support efficient order picking, inventory restocking, and workflow optimization
- Receiving: supervise and support unloading, inspection, and put-away of inbound inventory while maintaining quality and safety standards
- Returns: supervise and support processing of returned merchandise, including inspection, restocking, and disposition decisions
- Shipping: supervise and support on-time and accurate order dispatch, carrier coordination, and compliance with shipping requirements
- Qualifications
- H.S. Diploma/G.E.D. required;
Bachelor's Degree preferred - 3+ years of related distribution experience; 1+ year of management/leadership
- Experience with automation in a high-volume/high-value DC is a plus
- Strong leadership and ability to motivate for high performance
- Strong interpersonal skills and cross-functional collaboration
- Proficiency in warehouse management systems and Microsoft Office
- Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication; strategic and tactical thinking
- English proficiency (speaking and understanding)
- Physical ability to lift up to 35 lbs and to walk/stand for extended periods
- Flexibility to work nights and weekends as needed
