Production Technician I - 2nd Shift

Primary Purpose Of PositionUnder close supervision, responsible for the safe production and quality of Frozen Fruit through the operation, maintenance and sanitation of food production and packaging equipment. May perform the following tasks including lifting, stacking, dumping, pushing and pulling of frozen fruit boxes. Adhere to all GMP, HACCP, safety, regulatory and company policies.
Responsibilities- Follow all company Safety Rules and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP’s)
- Follow all SOP’s for the operation of the equipment used
- Maintain safe working conditions for employees and compliance with all state and federal regulations regarding health and safety issues.
- Produce high quality products in a safe and healthful manner
- Meet or exceed performance metrics including efficiency, production, downtime
- Work in all areas of production and packaging, as assigned, including operating, being in close proximity to and crossing over or under machinery.
- Ability to perform the essential functions of the job and work as a member of a team
- Perform a variety of production tasks: lifting, stacking, dumping, pushing and pulling of frozen fruit boxes.
- Must be able to work any shift, overtime, weekends and/or holidays
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
- Complete routine documentation associated with the manufacture of product
- Identify visual defects, make correction as needed, distinguish between colors
- Work in areas of varying temperatures
- Regular attendance
- Perform all job duties and responsibilities in a compliant and ethical manner and in accordance with applicable Federal, State, and local laws as well as company policies and procedures
- Follow the Dole Packaged Foods Code of Conduct
- Other duties as assigned
- Ability to read, write and interpret documents such as box markings, labels, schedules, safety rules, GMP’s and general instructions.
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Knowledge of manufacturing process and equipment
- Previous operating experience preferred
- Ability to work in a high‑paced environment
- Reliable attendance is an essential function of the job
- Ability to operate manual and motorized pallet jack and walkie stacker
- High School graduate or equivalent preferred.
- Must be able to pass job specific Physical Ability Test (PAT)
- Stand for 8+ hours on concrete and/or metal grating.
- Lift, push and pull up to 60 lbs. on frequent basis.
- Bend/stoop/squat/twist, kneel and turn throughout workday for varying lengths of time.
- Reach with hands and arms below shoulder level to above shoulder level.
- Work in temperatures ranging from 40-47 °F.
- Climb stairs
- Requires climbing, standing, walking, squatting, kneeling, lifting and other physical movements to perform job.
- Specific vision abilities required: close vision, distance vision, ability to adjust focus.
