Position Description
Immediately hiring a Permanent Full‑time Experienced Mid‑Level Diesel Technician to support our Truck Fleet at Ryder in McDonough, GA.

Compensation- Hourly Pay: $27.50 per hour
- Certification Bonus: $100 for each new ASE certification (up to $700 total)
- Quarterly Bonus: up to $500 per quarter
- Sign‑On Bonus: $1,250 at 30 days and $1,250 at 90 days
- Schedule:
Monday–Friday. Weekends OFF. - Hours:
First Shift 7:00 am – 3:30 pm

- Perform vehicle maintenance and repair duties
- Perform standard vehicle maintenance and component inspections
- Perform preventive maintenance (oil changes, brake/tire work, etc.)
- Diagnose standard mechanical and electronic problems, using diagnostic computers as needed
- Identify root cause of basic failures and perform required repairs
- Replace defective components as instructed
- Perform facility maintenance duties
- Interact with customers/drivers to determine nature of complaints
- Utilize shop management system and electronic documentation
- Work in accordance with federal, provincial, and corporate compliance guidelines (safety, DOT, MOT)
- Perform other support duties as required (e.g., service island support)
- High school diploma or equivalent (preferred)
- Vocational or technical certification and/or post‑secondary degree (preferred)
- Basic tools required
- Demonstrated aptitude and applied experience in mechanical repair of automotive gas or diesel engines including routine preventive maintenance
- Two (2) years or more of classroom training and work experience (preferred)
- Valid Commercial Driver License (CDL) Class A (preferred)
- Must be able to obtain a CDL within 6 months after hire
- Pass a Ryder drug test
- Pass a DOT physical
- Pass a Ryder road test
- Pass background and motor‑vehicle check, including drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last three years
- Additional customer‑specific screening may be required
