Installation Technician, Maintenance Technician / Mechanic
Job Summary
Under general supervision, this position is responsible for performing plumbing installations for multiple systems, including but not limited to dishwashers, gas dryers, gas ovens, and ranges, based on state requirements. The incumbent must be able to work any shift to satisfy the demand for scheduling flexibility and ensure operational success. This includes day shifts, night shifts, and weekend shifts.
Key Responsibilities- Inspect, repair, install, modify, and maintain plumbing fixtures in heating, water, and drainage systems.
- Direct and train employees to perform plumbing duties as appropriate.
- Manage inventory of specific plumbing parts and tools.
- Adhere to quality assurance policies and procedures to ensure accurate installations.
- Initiate, coordinate, and enforce installation practices, policies, and procedures.
- Conduct observations on the installation teams to ensure compliance and safety.
- Communicate job expectations with installation teams to ensure successful delivery and installation.
- Communicate regularly with Job Site Management to build effective and professional relationships.
- Preview job sites to ensure they are safe and ready for delivery based on the Builder’s schedule; communicate findings with office staff and external customers.
- Load, unload, install, and test household appliances using necessary hand tools and power tools based on job specifications, manufacturer’s installation instructions, and local codes.
- Detect, analyze, and resolve plumbing problems, such as pipeline leaks, using various technologies, tools, and equipment.
Minimum Qualifications
- 21 years of age with a Master Plumber license.
- Non-commercial driver’s license.
- Valid medical certification.
- Motor vehicle record that meets J.B. Hunt standards.
- Ability to work outdoors, in the elements, or across multiple shifts including nights and/or weekends if needed.
- Experience with appliance installations.
- Ability to fulfill physical requirements (lift/move appliance up to 100 pounds).
- Ability to wear appropriate work attire (bump cap, footwear, gloves).
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience in customer service.
- Knowledge of local plumbing codes.
- Proficiency with hand tools and power tools.
- Willingness to travel.
- Willingness to work flexible workdays and hours.

CompensationFactors that may affect starting pay within this range include skills, education, experience, geography, and other qualifications of the successful candidate. This position may be eligible for annual bonus and incentives based on profitability or volumes in accordance with the Company’s bonus and incentive plans.
