This role is based in the Georgia Metro area and is part of Rekor’s Portable Traffic Data Collection division.

As a Traffic Data Collection Technician, you will conduct traffic studies, install and maintain road tubes or camera systems, and collect data at multiple sites each week. Physical work, travel, and safety are essential components of this role.

Responsibilities
  • Safely install all assigned equipment at sites across the coverage area.
  • Review weekly tasks, check weather conditions, and devise a plan to complete work.
  • Maintain the operating condition of all equipment, replacing batteries and parts as needed.
  • Notify the manager of any issues that arise during the week.
  • Operate and park the vehicle safely and legally at all times.
  • Maintain the vehicle’s working condition and appearance.
  • Upload all collected data to the FTP site.
  • Travel up to 50 locations per week, managing equipment inventory of 50–60 portable event recorders.
Qualifications
  • Proof of High School diploma or GED.
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
  • Clearance following background verification, employment history, education confirmation, no criminal history, and drug testing.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word.
  • Willingness to travel in-state and out-of-state on a weekly basis.
  • Ability to operate a company vehicle.
  • Comfortable working outdoors in fluctuating weather conditions.
  • Basic working knowledge of computers and mobile devices.
  • Self‑motivated and able to work independently.
  • Ability to bend, kneel, squat, and lift up to 40 pounds.
  • Works well under pressure in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Strong problem‑solving and task‑prioritization skills.
