Regulatory Compliance Specialist – Plastics & Product Stewardship

This Regulatory Compliance Specialist supports and maintains the company’s global regulatory and product stewardship programs, including ISO, NSF, Yordas, and other compliance systems. This role is responsible for responding to customer and internal regulatory inquiries, maintaining regulatory documentation systems, and ensuring compliance with a wide range of global regulations. - Respond to customer regulatory and product compliance requests with accurate and timely documentation.
- Research, interpret, and apply global regulatory requirements to ensure company compliance.
- Partner with suppliers to obtain, review, and organize regulatory information and declarations.
- Maintain and update regulatory documentation systems, including Lisam, Yordas, and related tools.
- Support evaluation of new materials, suppliers, technologies, and processes from a regulatory perspective.
- Develop practical, solutions-oriented approaches to address regulatory challenges and findings.
- Communicate significant regulatory issues, risks, and trends to leadership, including recommended actions.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of government and industry regulatory standards and quality requirements.
- Collaborate with internal regulatory and quality teams; actively participate in regulatory initiatives.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
FDA Food Contact, REACH, California Proposition 65, EU 10/2011, Health Canada, Mercosur, China Food Contact, USP 661, CMR (Carcinogenic/Mutagenic/Reprotoxic), Nitrosamines, PFAS, and Child Safety regulations.
Qualifications Required Education & Experience- Bachelor’s degree in a scientific field or a minimum of 5 years of relevant regulatory experience.
- Demonstrated experience in plastics, polymers, color concentrates, or related materials—required.
- Strong working knowledge of regulatory requirements such as FDA, EU, ISO, UL, Health Canada, and related standards for medical, pharmaceutical, food packaging, and/or automotive applications.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; able to clearly present information to customers and internal teams.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
- Ability to interpret regulations and apply practical compliance solutions.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and comfort working with CRM and internet-based systems.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Professional demeanor with a strong commitment to customer service and internal partnership.
