Athletic Event Temporary Worker

McHenry Community High School District 156 is seeking dependable individuals to assist with after-school, evening, and weekend athletic events. Event workers ensure games run smoothly providing essential operational support. This is a temporary position; there are no benefits associated with this position, and there are no daily, weekly, monthly and/or annual guaranteed hours. As a temporary position, it is also not guaranteed from year to year.

Responsibilities / Duties:

Duties vary depending on assignment, but may include:

• Manage admissions and ticket sales at entry gates.
• Operate scoreboards, game clocks, and tracking systems.
• Deliver public-address announcements during athletic contests.
• Assist with event setup, crowd direction, and general event support.
• Maintain a professional and welcoming environment for all spectators.

Qualifications:

• General knowledge and understanding of high school athletic sporting events.
• Strong communication skills and comfort working directly with the public.
• High level of reliability, punctuality, and professionalism.
• Flexible availability for weekday evenings and occasional weekends.

Physical Requirements:

• Requires the ability to sit and/or stand for extended periods of time.
• Ability to work in various noise environments including indoor gyms and outdoor stadiums (involving the ability to stoop, bend, and reach as needed).
• Ability to move, lift, carry, pull, or push heavy objects or materials.
• Exposure to noise and activity of a school setting.
