Job SummaryResponsible for performing the daily activity calendar requirements set by the Activity Director. Support and follow the Activity Program’s mission, philosophy, policies, procedures, and regulations. Aim to achieve and maintain the highest quality of life for each resident, understanding all psychosocial, medical, and activity needs/preferences.
Qualifications- High school education or equivalent.
- At least 1 year experience in healthcare, volunteering, or personal experience with disabled populations.
- Knowledge of Federal and State activity regulations or ability to interpret them.
- Ability to read and write in English.
- Bi-lingual abilities are a plus.
- Valid IL driver’s license.
- Punctuality and time management skills, especially regarding the activity calendar.
- Empathy, compassion, enthusiasm, and positive attitude to interact effectively with residents, families, and staff.
- Ability to work with ill, disabled, elderly, emotionally upset, or hostile individuals.
- Effective communication with community members, health professionals, organizations, and agencies.
- Ability to manage emotional needs of oneself and staff.
- Ability to push, pull, or carry 50 pounds.
- May need to lift equipment, supplies, or move furniture.
- Mobility throughout the workday.
- Independence, flexibility, integrity, and teamwork skills.
- Provide feedback to monitor program goals.
- Lead a person-centered activity program to enhance residents’ quality of life.
- Follow all policies, procedures, and regulations.
- Understand residents’ backgrounds and needs to create tailored activity plans.
- Conduct and oversee assessments and document all required information.
- Maintain records such as participation logs, progress notes, and interest surveys.
- Update activity boards with creative themes monthly.
- Foster community involvement and organize outings.
- Adhere to scheduled activities and maintain equipment and supplies.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
