Rehab Services Technician
Illinois Bone & Joint Institute, LLC (IBJI), Chicagoland’s premier orthopedic medical practice with several Chicago and suburban locations, has a part‑time (20 hours) Rehabilitation Technician opening at our McHenry location.
This is an excellent opportunity for individuals looking to gain experience in an orthopedic physical and occupational therapy setting. As a Rehab Technician at IBJI, you’ll be a vital member of the orthopedic team, contributing to both clinical care and the overall success of the clinic using expertise in patient treatment and time management.
Job SummaryA rehabilitation technician works under the general technician supervisor and management team at the site of employment. The main objective is to support the staff with a team‑oriented approach in delivering exceptional customer service and care, improving a patient’s overall quality of life.
Essential Duties- Provide excellent customer service and communication to therapy patients, therapists, physician staff, and clients in a fast‑paced orthopedic rehab office.
- Daily clinic maintenance, including cleaning treatment tables and equipment, changing linens, and stocking supplies.
- Keep exercise equipment orderly and out of patients’ pathways to maintain safe conditions.
- Perform daily, weekly, and monthly maintenance checks to stay compliant with IBJI guidelines.
- Assist clinicians with exercise programs, including setup on equipment and modalities.
- Communicate observations made during patients’ exercise programs.
- Take initiative in assisting clinicians with patient care.
- Print home exercise programs for patients under the clinician’s direction.
- Maintain inventory of both clinical and non‑clinical materials.
- When required, perform front‑desk support (checking in patients, scheduling appointments, taking co‑pays, scanning, and answering the phone).
- Provide daily support to the rehab staff and management team.
- Follow HIPAA guidelines by protecting patients’ identities.
- Work with patients regardless of diagnosis, age, or background.
- Maintain a positive attitude in clinic.
- Demonstrate professionalism with prompt attendance and flexibility with established work hours.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
- High school diploma minimum required.
- Position requires a minimum of 20 hours per week.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and work under pressure.
- Detail oriented with effective time management skills.
- Displays professional and effective writing and verbal communication skills.
- Skilled in Windows, MS Office, and email access.
