Rehab Services Technician

Illinois Bone & Joint Institute, LLC (IBJI), Chicagoland’s premier orthopedic medical practice with several Chicago and suburban locations, has a part‑time (20 hours) Rehabilitation Technician opening at our McHenry location.

This is an excellent opportunity for individuals looking to gain experience in an orthopedic physical and occupational therapy setting. As a Rehab Technician at IBJI, you’ll be a vital member of the orthopedic team, contributing to both clinical care and the overall success of the clinic using expertise in patient treatment and time management.

Job Summary

A rehabilitation technician works under the general technician supervisor and management team at the site of employment. The main objective is to support the staff with a team‑oriented approach in delivering exceptional customer service and care, improving a patient’s overall quality of life.

Essential Duties
  • Provide excellent customer service and communication to therapy patients, therapists, physician staff, and clients in a fast‑paced orthopedic rehab office.
  • Daily clinic maintenance, including cleaning treatment tables and equipment, changing linens, and stocking supplies.
  • Keep exercise equipment orderly and out of patients’ pathways to maintain safe conditions.
  • Perform daily, weekly, and monthly maintenance checks to stay compliant with IBJI guidelines.
  • Assist clinicians with exercise programs, including setup on equipment and modalities.
  • Communicate observations made during patients’ exercise programs.
  • Take initiative in assisting clinicians with patient care.
  • Print home exercise programs for patients under the clinician’s direction.
  • Maintain inventory of both clinical and non‑clinical materials.
  • When required, perform front‑desk support (checking in patients, scheduling appointments, taking co‑pays, scanning, and answering the phone).
  • Provide daily support to the rehab staff and management team.
  • Follow HIPAA guidelines by protecting patients’ identities.
  • Work with patients regardless of diagnosis, age, or background.
  • Maintain a positive attitude in clinic.
  • Demonstrate professionalism with prompt attendance and flexibility with established work hours.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.
Job Qualifications
  • High school diploma minimum required.
  • Position requires a minimum of 20 hours per week.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and work under pressure.
  • Detail oriented with effective time management skills.
  • Displays professional and effective writing and verbal communication skills.
  • Skilled in Windows, MS Office, and email access.
