Description

This role works every other weekend on the day shift 7am to 7:30pm. Under RN supervision, performs basic patient care activities, upholds NM’s Code of Ethics and regulatory standards.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor vital signs, blood glucose, and record intake/output.
  • Assist patients with bathing, grooming, eating and daily activities.
  • Report abnormal findings to nursing staff.
  • Maintain patient rooms clean and orderly.
  • Demonstrate flexibility, organization, and multitasking under stress.
  • Use critical thinking to prioritize and complete unit work quickly.
  • Act as liaison between patient care units and other departments.
  • Answer telephone, intercom and call lights politely with proper etiquette.
  • Manage overall unit workflow with charge RN or assistant manager.
  • Perform pre‑census and validate daily admission, discharge, census lists as needed.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Completed one clinical rotation as nursing student.
  • Certified Nursing Assistant, Certified Medical Assistant, EMT, or nursing student with one semester of clinical.
  • CPR – Basic Life Support.
  • Physical demands: lift/carry up to 50 pounds; push/pull up to 50 pounds.

Preferred

  • Phlebotomy experience.
  • Graduate of accredited Nursing Assistant program or Phlebotomy course.
