Job Title: Staff Nurse Inpatient

Schedule: Two 8‑hour shifts per week, start times vary between 6 am and 8 am. The position includes an on‑call requirement of 1–2 days every two weeks and a weekend rotation approximately every six weeks. Special days off cannot be guaranteed due to unpredictable procedure schedules.

• Collect and analyze patient data, identify expected outcomes, and develop and implement individualized care plans.
• Direct care and determine the appropriate use of assistants involved in direct patient care.
• Collaborate with patients, families, physicians, and ancillary staff to create and document a plan focused on outcomes and related communications.
• Participate in shared governance, committee work, and unit projects.
• Evaluate and document patients’ responses to nursing interventions in the health record, individualizing the plan of care based on findings.
• Utilize the best available evidence, including research findings, to guide practice decisions.

Required:

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
• Current State of Illinois Registered Professional Nurse license
• American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Strong interpersonal and collaborative skills
• Strong analytic abilities
• Associate Degree Nursing (ADN) acceptable with a commitment to obtain a BSN from an accredited program within three years of the first day of employment in a clinical nurse role.

Preferred:

• Experience in a specific clinical area, particularly Emergency Room or Pediatric Emergency Room settings
• Trauma Nurse Specialist (TNS) credential
• Emergency Communications Registered Nurse credential
• Certified Pediatric Nurse credential
• Certified Emergency Nurse credential
