Job Title: Staff Nurse Inpatient
Schedule: Two 8‑hour shifts per week, start times vary between 6 am and 8 am. The position includes an on‑call requirement of 1–2 days every two weeks and a weekend rotation approximately every six weeks. Special days off cannot be guaranteed due to unpredictable procedure schedules.
Responsibilities- Collect and analyze patient data, identify expected outcomes, and develop and implement individualized care plans.
- Direct care and determine the appropriate use of assistants involved in direct patient care.
- Collaborate with patients, families, physicians, and ancillary staff to create and document a plan focused on outcomes and related communications.
- Participate in shared governance, committee work, and unit projects.
- Evaluate and document patients’ responses to nursing interventions in the health record, individualizing the plan of care based on findings.
- Utilize the best available evidence, including research findings, to guide practice decisions.
Required:
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
- Current State of Illinois Registered Professional Nurse license
- American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Strong interpersonal and collaborative skills
- Strong analytic abilities
- Associate Degree Nursing (ADN) acceptable with a commitment to obtain a BSN from an accredited program within three years of the first day of employment in a clinical nurse role.
Preferred:
- Experience in a specific clinical area, particularly Emergency Room or Pediatric Emergency Room settings
- Trauma Nurse Specialist (TNS) credential
- Emergency Communications Registered Nurse credential
- Certified Pediatric Nurse credential
- Certified Emergency Nurse credential
