Job Description

The Staff Nurse – Inpatient (Centegra IHR) reflects NM’s mission, vision, and values, adheres to the Code of Ethics and Corporate Compliance Program, and meets all regulatory and accreditation standards. The role requires a registered nurse who prescribes, delegates, and coordinates nursing care for acutely ill patients through assessment, planning, intervention, implementation, and evaluation.

Responsibilities

  • Collect and analyze data, identify expected outcomes, develop and implement individualized plans, and coordinate care delivery.
  • Direct care and determine appropriate utilization of assistants in providing direct patient care.
  • Collaborate with patients, families, physicians, and ancillary staff, creating documented plans focused on outcomes.
  • Participate in shared governance, committee work, and unit projects.
  • Evaluate and document patient responses to nursing interventions, adjusting plans based on evaluation.
  • Utilize best available evidence, including research findings, to guide practice decisions.

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
  • Current State of Illinois Registered Professional Nurse license
  • American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS)
  • Strong interpersonal and collaborative skills
  • Strong analytic abilities
  • Associate Degree Nursing (ADN) acceptable with a commitment to obtain a BSN within three years of first day of employment.

Preferred

  • Experience in a specific clinical area
  • ACLS certification
  • ONS Chemo/Biotherapy certification
  • Oncology experience
