Inside Sales Consultant - Follett Content Solutions
Follett Content Solutions has been a trusted partner for educators since 1873. We support educators that touch more than 45 million students worldwide. We are hiring for an Inside Sales Consultant.
This full‑time, non‑exempt position is located in McHenry, IL. Pay is $20.00 per hour plus commissions. Hybrid work schedule: 3 days in office (Mon, Tue & Thu) and 2 remote days (Wed & Fri).
Key Responsibilities- Achievement of assigned overall territory and product portfolio mix revenue goals, including KPI metrics.
- Focus on revenue target through growth on existing accounts and acquisition of new customers.
- Provide product presentations/demonstrations via Phone‑Internet.
- Uncover and qualify new opportunities by probing needs and requirements.
- Complete customer call expectations using specific call campaigns.
- Identify cross‑selling, up‑selling and lead generation opportunities.
- Develop/ utilize target lists of prospects for telephone contacts.
- Develop effective territory plan and strategy; modify quarterly as needed.
- Secure competitive and market information to share with Sales & Marketing.
- Travel to trade shows, conferences, workshops, and meetings as required.
- Stay abreast of current K‑12 educational trends and develop effective sales strategies.
- Stay current on products/services through training and self‑education.
- Demonstrate knowledge and best practices through call evaluations, training assessments, and sales results.
- Understand current Pre‑K‑12 environment (regulatory, funding, competition).
- Research and conduct pre‑call preparation when necessary.
- Demonstrate value proposition of Follett—including products, content offerings, applications, and services.
- Manage all customer interactions in CRM with accurate documentation.
- Ensure opportunities are recorded and updated for accurate pipeline and forecasting.
- Participate in scheduled team meetings and sales functions.
- Leverage Follett resources and sales support to maximize efficiency.
- Help maintain CRM system by troubleshooting, tracking, and reporting problems.
- Apply Follett sales activity protocol, system procedures, and interdepartmental processes.
- Ensure company values and policies are upheld.
- Serve as liaison between customers and company departments.
- 3‑5 years of sales experience, preferably in the education industry.
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience.
- Persistence, high energy, and strong interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated negotiating skills.
- Adaptability in a dynamic, fast‑paced environment.
