About the Role

We are seeking a Senior Estimator with proven experience leading estimates on projects valued at $20M or greater
. This role requires expertise in conceptual estimating, competitive hard bids, and CM@Risk delivery methods. The ideal candidate is a strong mentor, a detail-oriented professional, and a collaborative leader who can deliver accurate estimates while developing and guiding junior estimators.

Key Responsibilities

Competitive Sealed Proposals (CSP) & Hard Bids

• Prepare Spec Section Matrix, Call List, and recruit qualified Sub/Vendor bidders
• Perform quantity takeoffs for all trades
• Develop project-specific scopes and tab sheets
• Prepare Google Sheet Sum Form and set up Bid Day Room
• Create General Conditions estimates and tabulate trades on Bid Day
• Develop project-specific bid tabs and publish bidder lists
• Lead Pre-Bid Conferences
• Participate in Bid Day prep and presentations to Owners
• Verify bidder scopes post-Bid Day and compile GMP pricing booklets
• Coordinate with Field Operations to present GMP to the Owner
• Transition estimates to Field Ops for execution
• Adapt CSP and CMAR techniques to develop pricing for incomplete or implied scopes

Leadership & Development

• Mentor and oversee Estimators I & II, reviewing performance and providing guidance
• Conduct performance appraisals and salary reviews for junior estimators
• Contribute to process improvement initiatives and promote company core values

Qualifications

Experience & Background

• 8–15 years verifiable experience as a commercial estimator on the contractor side
• Stable work history with average tenure of 3–4 years per employer
• Experience with projects $20M+
• Familiarity with K-12 projects is a plus
• DFW-area subcontractor following preferred
• Field experience as a Project Engineer or Project Manager is a plus
• Strong project takeoff, organization, and conceptual estimating ability
• Proficiency in unit pricing, bid tabulation, and construction means & methods
• Advanced skills with Google Sheets, Excel, Word, and scheduling software
• Ability to influence subcontractors/suppliers
• Excellent communication, presentation, and mentoring skills
• Strong recruiting, interviewing, and performance appraisal capability
• Effective public speaking, teaching, and sales proficiency
• Strong time management and customer service mindset (internal & external)
