- Oversee daily field operations for underground utility construction projects.
- Manage and coordinate foremen, operators, pipe layers, laborers, subcontractors, and other field personnel.
- Review project plans, specifications, schedules, and scopes of work.
- Coordinate manpower, equipment, materials, and subcontractors to keep projects on schedule.
- Monitor production, job progress, and overall project performance.
- Ensure crews follow company safety policies, OSHA requirements, and project-specific safety procedures.
- Conduct regular jobsite inspections and address safety, quality, or production concerns.
- Coordinate closely with Project Managers, General Superintendent, inspectors, engineers, municipalities, and customers.
- Ensure work is completed according to plans, specifications, and applicable codes.
- Assist with resolving field conflicts, utility crossings, scheduling issues, and unforeseen jobsite conditions.
- Monitor equipment utilization and report equipment or maintenance needs.
- Review and verify employee time, production quantities, and daily field reports.
- Hold foremen and crews accountable for productivity, attendance, workmanship, safety, and company procedures.
- Assist with project planning, scheduling, and sequencing of work.
- Maintain professional communication with customers, inspectors, subcontractors, and internal management.
- Participate in project meetings as required.
- Ensure projects are completed safely, on schedule, and within established production expectations.
- Minimum 5 years of underground utility construction experience , with previous Superintendent or similar field leadership experience preferred.
- Strong knowledge of underground utility installation and construction methods.
- Experience with water, sewer, storm drainage, dry utilities, conduit, telecom, and/or electrical conduit preferred.
- Experience with TxDOT projects and subdivision development strongly preferred.
- Ability to read and understand construction plans, specifications, and utility drawings.
- Strong leadership and crew-management skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects, crews, schedules, and priorities.
- Knowledge of construction safety requirements and OSHA standards.
- Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
- Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.
- Ability to travel to project locations as needed.
We are looking for a hands-on Superintendent who understands underground utility construction, can effectively lead field teams, and takes ownership of safety, productivity, quality, and project schedules.
