Equipment Operator

We’re looking for a skilled Commercial Equipment Operator to handle a range of heavy machinery used in construction and site development. This role involves operating equipment for excavation, grading, and material handling while keeping a close eye on safety, accuracy, and overall efficiency on the job site.

Responsibilities included, but not limited to:

Run heavy equipment such as loaders, dozers, and hauling units to support daily construction work.

Carry out excavation tasks based on site plans and required elevations.

Place and compact backfill materials to meet project specs and ensure ground stability.

Perform grading work to achieve proper drainage and final surface levels.

Read and interpret site plans, grade stakes, and elevation markers with precision.

Transport materials safely across the site using hauling equipment.

Inspect machinery before and after use, reporting any issues and handling basic maintenance.

Follow all safety procedures and company guidelines to maintain a safe work environment.

Work closely with supervisors and crew members to stay on schedule and meet project goals.

• Proven experience operating heavy construction equipment in a commercial setting.
• Solid understanding of excavation, grading, and compaction techniques.
• Ability to read and follow site plans and elevation requirements accurately.
• Familiarity with safety standards and best practices for equipment operation.
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to work in varying site conditions.
• Valid driver’s license; CDL is a plus.

$25 - $30 hourly

Tavacon, LLC is a Commercial General Contractor working throughout the Dallas / FTW Metroplex and the surrounding areas.
