Responsibilities

- Provide hands‑on, play‑based learning experiences.
- Create opportunities for exploration in areas such as literacy, math, science, art, and music.
- Promoting Language & Early Literacy
- Read stories, introduce new vocabulary, and encourage conversations.
- Support early writing and comprehension skills through fun activities.
- Foster listening and communication skills.
- Encouraging Cognitive Development
- Introduce basic math concepts (counting, shapes, patterns).
- Encourage curiosity, problem‑solving, and critical thinking.
- Provide science activities that involve observation and exploration.
- Supporting Physical Development
- Offer activities that build fine motor skills (cutting, drawing, puzzles).
- Teach healthy habits like handwashing and self‑care.
- Observing & Assessing Children’s Development
- Monitor each child’s progress through observation and documentation.
- Identify strengths, needs, or potential developmental concerns.
- Adapt instruction to meet individual needs.
- Collaborating with Families
- Communicate regularly with parents or caregivers about progress and concerns.
- Share strategies to support learning at home.
- Build strong partnerships to support the child’s overall development.
- Providing Structure & Routine
- Maintain predictable daily schedules.
- Teach children to follow directions and classroom rules.
- Help them transition smoothly between activities.
- Modeling Respect, Kindness, and Curiosity
- Demonstrate empathy, patience, and respect.
- Inspire a love of learning through enthusiasm and creativity.
- High school diploma or early childhood education qualification (varies by region).
- Experience working with young children.
- Knowledge of child development and age‑appropriate practices.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to create a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment.
- Patience, empathy, and positive behavior‑management skills.
- First aid/CPR certification (often required).
