Raytheon is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to support factory production operations. This individual will work closely with cross‑functional partners including manufacturing engineering, factory management, quality engineering, and operations assembly/test personnel. This role resides within the Manufacturing Engineering department.

You will evaluate performance and nonconformance data for complex mechanical assemblies, perform mechanical root‑cause analysis, and provide direction for rework, retest, and process improvements. You will collaborate with multiple functions to improve yields, reduce cycle time, enhance test/inspection processes, and support continuous improvement initiatives across production lines.

This role is a first‑shift assignment with core hours from 8:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday through Friday, with an optional 9/80 schedule. Occasional weekend work may be required to support factory operations.

Key Responsibilities Provide mechanical engineering expertise to troubleshoot assemblies failing inspection or test, identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions.

Investigate mechanical failure trends, perform structured root‑cause and corrective action (RCCA) analysis, and implement preventive measures to mitigate systemic production issues.

Support troubleshooting and repair of mechanical components, sub‑assemblies, housings, thermal solutions, structures, and mechanical interfaces on systems produced at McKinney CMC such as ATFLIR, Harpoon, MTS, EODAS, and related programs.

Develop and maintain troubleshooting guides, mechanical rework instructions, tooling concepts, and documentation used to support production and test processes.

Drive initiatives to reduce cycle time, minimize touch labor, and improve manufacturability to optimize overall production costs.
