- Registered or certified in Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS), radiography (ARRT‑R), or equivalent.
Four 10‑hour shifts, 7:00 pm–5:30 am. Work 8–9 days per month on STEMI call, including one weekend. Holiday calls rotate annually for major and minor holidays.
Job SummaryThe Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist, under general supervision, assists physicians during catheterization and electrophysiology lab procedures, prepares the room and equipment, instructs patients, monitors vital signs, and provides routine and emergency care during procedures.
Essential Functions- Assist physicians with procedures such as arteriograms, pacemakers, defibrillators, and peripheral interventions.
- Follow national and state radiation protection regulations.
- Perform pre‑ and post‑procedure care and monitoring.
- Oriente patients for procedures and answer related questions.
- Monitor ECG, pressures, temperature, and impedances during electrophysiology lab procedures.
- Help run RF/Cryo ablation systems, 3D mapping, and record procedural documentation.
- Manage and maintain imaging data for cardiac and peripheral cases.
- Collect registry and quality data on appropriate forms.
- Prepare and maintain sterile fields for lab procedures.
- Order and maintain inventory of procedure room supplies.
- Perform routine calibration and maintenance of complex equipment.
- Assist in orientation and training of new staff and students.
- Demonstrate good customer service skills.
- Associate’s degree or 2 years of related cardiovascular lab experience.
- Available for on‑call response requirements.
- Knowledge of complex invasive cardiac and vascular instrumentation and techniques.
- Knowledge of cardiovascular anatomy and physiology.
- Education:
Associate’s degree or 2 years of work experience above the minimum qualification. - Certification/Registration: ACLS and BLS within 30 days of hire; ARRT‑R, RCIS, or equivalent required. Must hold American Registry of Radiologic Tech (ARRT‑R) and MRT through TX Medical Board or equivalent cardiology certifications.
