PRN – various shifts possible:
Days, Nights, Weekends

1 major and minor holiday per year

Back‑up call only with rotation approximately every 6 weeks

Minimum of 1 year CT hospital experience

The CT Technologist, under general supervision of a Radiologist, performs computed tomography (CT) procedures on ambulatory and hospital patients as requested by a physician or other licensed provider for the diagnosis of disease and injury in accordance with established protocols.

• Perform high‑quality CT procedures according to exam protocol in a timely manner.
• Maintain production and quality of imaging procedures by following established standards and procedures.
• Demonstrate understanding of radiation dose reference levels, dose monitoring, and actions for dose exceedances, including patient follow‑up.
• Use iSTAT point‑of‑care testing for obtaining creatinine levels.
• Apply AIDET in patient communication to ensure correct exam and establish rapport.
• Prepare patient and area for procedure, positioning patient, adjusting immobilization devices, and setting equipment controls.
• Protect patients and employees by adhering to safety requirements, infection‑control, and radiation policies.
• Maintain equipment and work area to meet quality and cleanliness standards; collaborate with engineers and physicists for optimal equipment performance.
• Report issues to management or appropriate department; assist in maintaining supplies inventory.
• Screen individuals for safety; obtain, verify, and maintain all relevant documentation (requisition, patient history, pregnancy status, shielding precautions, consent, policies).
• Maintain medical imaging records in the appropriate system in accordance with department policies and standards.

• Perform high‑quality CT procedures according to protocol in a timely manner.
• Explain procedure and put patients at ease.
• Provide services in a timely, accurate, and cost‑efficient manner in compliance with established standards.
• Perform tasks independently without routine oversight.
• Maintain a calm and helpful attitude under stress and resolve issues appropriately.
• Administer first aid and use emergency cart.
• Ensure customer satisfaction by limiting wait times and providing courteous service.
• Maintain current knowledge and continue education for all age groups (newborn, pediatric, young adult, adult, geriatric).
• Precept new team members and new services.
• Take call if required.

• EDUCATION – Graduate of an accredited program
• EXPERIENCE – Less than 1 year of experience

CERTIFICATION/LICENSE/REGISTRATION

• ARRT‑CT Computed Tomography (CT):
  Must be certified by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists in CT.
• BLS:
  Basic Life Support required within 30 days of hire/transfer.
• MRT:
  Licensed by the State of Texas Medical Board as a Medical Radiologic Technologist.
• Additional certifications (ARRT‑N, ARRT‑R, CNMT) as applicable.
