Elections Tech Resources Coordinator

Job Description

County is seeking candidates to fill the position of Elections Technology Coordinator. An Elections Technology Coordinator is responsible for but, not limited to, overseeing and supporting technology advancements within the department. Work is performed under the direction of the Elections Administrator.

• Tracking of equipment to ensure security procedures are followed.
• Coding and programming of tabulation hardware and software.
• Implementing and managing software as a service solution.
• Assisting with preparation of ballots and tabulation count program and software.
• Providing support to the Election department with voting equipment and daily technical questions, regarding the system and programs.
• Administrating preventative maintenance of voting equipment and minor repairs in the absence of manufacture’s hardware maintenance agreement.
• Collaborating with the voting system vendor and the IT department regarding electronic voting processes and necessary equipment or process upgrades or changes.
• Serving as a liaison between Elections and other County agencies and vendors regarding election hardware and software.
• Coordinating with IT department for storing and disposing of departmental records as well as ballots and other election records.
• Performing other duties as assigned.

• Must possess the knowledge necessary to understand basic operational, technical, and office processes.
• Must have a level of education equivalent to four years of high school.
• Associates degree required and Bachelors degree is preferred.
• Must have at least 3 years of directly related experience in computer systems administration.
• Must possess and maintain a valid Texas Drivers License with an acceptable driving record.
