Job Summary and Qualifications

What you will do in this role- Performs direct patient care within the scope of the Registered Nurse Practice Act
- Use therapeutic communication in daily practice
- Maintain a safe and therapeutic environment
- Plan, implement and direct care using the nursing process with emphasis on the needs of the individual patient
- Provide emotional support of the patient and significant others to make informed choices regarding healthcare
- Promote an environment that treats patients and families with dignity, respect and appreciation of their lifestyle, religion and culture
- Maintain quality, age specific care for newborn, pediatric, adolescent and adult patients as assigned
- Proactively advocate for patients and consistently education patients/families throughout the continuum of care
- 2 years of acute care hospital RN L&D experience is preferred
- Advanced Cardiac Life Spt must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
- Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
- Neonate Resuscitate must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
- Registered Nurse in the state of Texas or compact state license
- Bachelors Degree in Nursing
